Blessed Spring

Master builder Picco captured the spring while the Southern Railway was being constructed through Laško. The water here was said to be the best drinking water for miles around. Travellers could sit down, refresh themselves and rest. In 1906 the Beautification Society carefully landscaped the spring. A chapel was erected above the source and the site enriched by a semicircle of spruces, replacing the original planting of white birches. The society's diligent members improved not only this corner but the wider surroundings as well. On the left bank of the Savinja they installed practical bathing huts, while the increasingly green Hum hill was crossed with pleasant walking paths equipped with viewpoints, rest places with benches and tables, and protective railings on exposed sections. The spring received its present appearance after restoration in 2023.

The Blessed Spring lies very close to the Thermana Laško thermal spa, surrounded by nature near the confluence of the Savinja and Rečica rivers. Simply cross the Bridge of Wishes and enjoy the spa's extensive offer.
