Pr Perdih

The present appearance of this 19th-century town house is only a modest remnant of the once imposing building where butchery and hospitality operated for almost 150 years. Before the great fire of 1840, which completely destroyed the building, it belonged to the Wurzer family. After the fire it was rebuilt as a two-storey house, today displaying a modest and probably much altered four-axis façade. The new owner was master butcher Franc Friedrich, whose butcher's shop on today's Orožen Square had burned down. He continued his trade at the new location, followed by his son Gašper and grandson Franc. At the end of 1872 the younger Franc married Ivana Govedič, daughter of the Laško notary. They had two children, but the harsh realities of the 19th century quickly shattered the young family's happiness: Margareta died ten days after giving birth, and little Jožefa died in her third month. Franc himself died of tuberculosis at the age of 29. To preserve her late husband's craft tradition, the widow Ivana married Ivan Pinter. One of their daughters was Mariana, later known as Frau Komes, who eventually took over the property and business. She married Štefan Komes, and her turbulent life left a lasting mark on Laško stories. After Štefan's death in 1922 Mariana continued the business, but despite her efforts it did not prosper. She sold the butcher's shop and inn to the Perdih family from Zidani Most. Emil and Ana Perdih continued both activities at the same address, and their interwar business gave the building its present name — Pr Perdih.

Today the house and its associated properties are in poor condition, while the meadow beside the building is used for events.
