Ivšek House

This interesting building, constructed shortly after 1825, is U-shaped, with its three wings enclosing a safe and picturesque inner courtyard. The main part of the ground-floor façade is marked by a straight row of six windows or doors, while the narrower section of the house, with its characteristic triangular gable, faces directly onto the square. The architectural surprise lies on the courtyard side, where the house is taller and has an additional storey that is not evident from the street. The exterior is particularly notable for its so-called ‘stitched corners’ — projecting decorative surfaces at the building's edges that create the picturesque impression that the house has been imaginatively sewn together at the corners with stone blocks.
